Kuandé Hall | 2010 Marines



Kuande Hall is a Military Photojournalism student at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Hall was born in Willingboro, N.J., and spent the majority of his childhood in Raleigh, N.C. He joined the Marine Corps in September 2000 and shipped to boot camp in May 2001. He spent his first four years in the Marine Corps Reserves as a network administrator before augmenting to active duty and graduating as a Combat Correspondent from the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Md.

Hall deployed as a network administrator from January 2003 through June 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He performed duties as a Marine Corps recruiter from 2005 to 2007.  Upon completion of his training at DINFOS, he served as the assistant public affairs chief for the Sixth Marine Corps District from 2007 to 2009, prior to his assignment to Syracuse University.

Hall’s awards and achievements include the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Select Marine Corps Reserve Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and a Certificate of Appreciation for his service overseas.

Hall will be stationed at the Defense Media Agency in Crystal City, Va., where he will serve as the social media chief.
