Chris Hubenthal

Chris Hubenthal | 2011 Photojournalist, Senior Airman, USAF

Chris Hubenthal is a Military Photojournalism student at SI Newhouse School of Public Communications located at Syracuse University and is a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force.

He joined the Air Force in January of 2005. He graduated from the Basic Still Photography course at the Defense Information School (DINFOS) at Fort Meade, Md. In 2008 he attended the Digital Multimedia Course at DINFOS.

Hubenthal’s first duty assignment was at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California for more than five years with a six month deployment to Iraq as a combat photographer and a six month deployment to Joint Base Balad, Iraq as a base support photographer. While stationed in California he worked on base support for Vandenberg Air Force Base’s space mission.

Hubenthal has won awards for the Space Command media contest and was featured in the “Joint Chiefs of Staff’s Portraits in Courage”.

He has had numerous photographs published in magazines, newspapers, and Web sites.
