Bryson Jones | 2010 Marines


Bryson Jones is a Military Photojournalism student at Syracuse University’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Jones hails from Billings, Mont.  He joined the Marine Corps in February 2003. After recruit training, he graduated as a Combat Photographer from the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Md.

Jones served as a base photographer at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. during his first tour of duty.  He also served in Operation Iraqi Freedom with II Marine Expeditionary Force from 2005 to 2006 and deployed to the Western Pacific with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2008.

Jones’s achievements include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Three gold stars in lieu of 4th award, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, bronze star in lieu of 2nd award, the Operation Iraqi Freedom Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Humanitarian Service medal.

Jones has two children, Gracy Mae and Maverick and a pug named Pugsly.

Jones will go on to serve as the photo staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge at Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Va.
